Last time we gotten a great ALIEN: Isolation game was back on October 6th 2014, just a year after the devastating ALIENS: Colonial Marines which was released on February 12th 2013.
SEGA teamed up with the dreadful company, Gearbox Software. After SEGA handing over money to them to better the Colonial Marines game, instead of bettering it, they turned around and used it on Borderlands 2.
When the original game play trailer came on E3 2011. It showed a promise and powerful game play trailer, that even featured the beloved Alien Queen. This E3 game play video was nearly 10 minutes long, and was narrated by Gearbox Software’s OWN President Randy Pitchford. See video below.
What you are watching above, got completely cut out of finished product.
As for the final score of ALIENS: Colonial Marines, it ranked in with 4.9/10 stars.
Storyline: After the events depicted in Aliens (1986) and Aliens: Fire and Stone. Michael Bishop Weyland sets up War against the Colonial Marines to cover up the Xeno conspiracy.
While with ALIEN: Isolation, we as fans finally got what we wanted. Hunted by a aggressive and smart Alien. Below was just a taste at the time of what was being developed by Creative Assembly and SEGA. This is what the Alien was designed to do, scare the holy hell out of us. See below for the first ever look at ALIEN: Isolation.
See what I mean? That’s how an Alien (only 1 to) should scare us in a game.

The Next Chapter Begins
On January 17th 2018, 20th Century Fox announced they required Cold Iron Studios to develop the next Alien game. Coming on PC and Consoles, with a to be announced date. As far as we know, it’s a first person shooter. Below is a small statement from Cold Iron Studios website, regarding the upcoming Alien game.
“Currently, the team is working on a new PC and console shooter based on the Alien franchise. If you’re interested in joining us, check out our open positions!”
The last bit of information besides hopefully getting some kind of clue this December’s “The Game Rewards”. It’s hard to really say for sure, one thing we do know is that Fox did trademark a title in games called Alien: Blackout.
Also in the works is a virtual reality Alien experience from FoxNext VR Studio, who is known for making “The Planet’s of the Apes” VR experience. The only questions remain, when? what platforms? and can we get a announcement at the Game Rewards.
Stay tuned on more information on Alien: Blackout as it could end up being the real title name, or just a title holder just to make us talk about it. Also make sure to keep up with Cold Iron Studios by following them on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
