Our Spoiler-Free Review & Analysis:-

Interesting Cases of Flying Terrors Based on Real & Important Witnesses:-

The movie starts off with a great narrative of high dreams and discovery then the dreams of being a pilot are linked to the dreams of discovering the reality of various flying legends of the US like the Thunderbird and Piasa Bird.  We are then introduced to some authors who tell us about their own personal experiences and why they started supporting the cause of researching about the Giant Birds. They emphasize on the importance that the witnesses should be given and that their statements need to be heard with an open mind.

This documentary also covers the feelings of the witnesses and how traumatizing it is for some victims when they are not taken seriously about these happenings. Some witnesses are very important and intelligent people like Army Colonel named Walter F. Siegmund , flight instructors of Mississippi school of aeronautics, retired army officials, a lady doctor, a sales man and many skeptic grown-up adults. It also shows a psychological trait of the general public as people are just waiting for others to confess in public about such sightings before they could openly admit seeing such flying creatures themselves. This is evident when many people speak up after the news of Giant Bird incidents broke out in Alton, Lawndale and then the Chicago’s Moth-Man.

The documentary has the story divided in various cases and we get to see some evidences like newspaper pages, old footage and proper dates which can help you do your own personal research too. The movie becomes interesting because it combines present day location footage, author & researcher interviews. We get to see the tale of Piasa bird, Thunderbird, even dinosaur- Pterodactyl and then Moth-Man. It never feels dull and feels like a journey. The tales are not just about their origins but also the evidence of their sightings and witness statements which are told to us by the authors and researchers who are narrating us the events.

Professional & Formal Presentation Style:-

If you expected a full CGI filled dinosaur-like movie showing the life of the bird, or a team of researchers travelling throughout the present day State of Illinois to ask people and investigate, then you won’t find it here. What you will see is far better presentation than what you could imagine. This documentary movie plays out like a scientific documentary, with well connected stories through a professional narration by Lyle Blackburn as well as various present day authors which provide much needed background details and geographical information. The narration is what keeps this movie very strong and consistent. You could easily add a channel name of “National Geography” or “Discovery” on this movie and air this on TV without any problem. That’s how good the production value is and there are no swear words, suggestive content or violence shown for cheap scares.

This movie is ideal for audiences of all age but considering that there are some scary themes, children should watch this along with parents or guardians. Special effects are brilliant. The animated re-imagination of some witness accounts have a feel of ‘Life is Strange’ and ‘The Walking Dead’ type of Visual Novel games and are used sparingly to retain the professional look of the movie. The music & background score is creepy and sound very professional.

Significance of Geography & History:-

Each part of the documentary covers a different tale of a flying terror. The different parts feel very consistent and related together due to the explanation that is heavily based on geographical evidences. The events that occur throughout this movie strangely form a pattern and feel like a trail of the giant bird. This makes it very exciting to see what comes next in the documentary. Some people, especially those living in the US, may feel that the detailed explaining of the history and geography of the involved cities could be skipped, but I think that this detailed explanation is what makes this documentary eligible for international release and also, provides some much needed background information for those not familiar with the Giant bird cases shown in this movie. This movie thus, becomes a great source of information for those not living in the US as the audience gets a feel of the local culture, history and geography of the US cities involved in the cases. For those living in the US, this could show some less known facts and also act as a fresher for many things forgotten with time.

This documentary is entertaining, well paced and scientific. It never feels like a boring documentary thanks to the brilliant narration, music and the videos that keep the documentary exciting. Almost like a great web series, it is an enlightening documentary, not only about these creatures but also about how the very existence of these witnesses, there has been a rise in the research on the mythical and supernatural flying creatures. If you are looking for something informative that not only tells about the flying creatures but also about the history of Illinois state of the US, this documentary will be a treat to watch. This is worth your money and time because it’s authentic and only tells us what is real- the evidences and the witnesses and is never trying to become a sci-fi movie or even a horror flick. The images and narration does make this movie creepy and that’s something which will remain with you even after you finish watching it.

After watching this movie, you will never look at the sky the same way again….
