Spoiler-Free Review:-

The brand new Hell series from John Carpenter & Storm King Comics’ Tales of Science Fiction is a scientific take on hell, the place underground near to the core of Earth. The first issue introduced readers to the characters and the exciting mission to reach the core of Earth for valuable resources and to find the reason behind the appearance of reptilian creatures that look like gargoyles..

The second issue of Hell starts where the first issue ended with a heated verbal fight between the protagonist Stefanie Billings and Mr. Samples. The conversation that starts the comic helps us to know more about Mr. Samples, who is a guy that usually endangers the entire team according to Stefanie Billings. We also get to learn how the Kartkas species “Dragon boy” member of this expedition team became a part of the expedition, and what troubles the reptilian humanoid creature had to endure when trying to find a train to the Hell but ended up getting abused by humans yet finding kindness in the most unlikely place and person. The comic ends on a high note as the submarine gets a signal of an intruder nearby but who can find them or attack them in the Bermuda Triangle? That’s something we will discover in the next issue of Hell comic!!

The horror comic has an interesting writing and narration style that sucks you into the world. Besides action and horror, we find emotions, humor, and positivity too. Well placed effective dialogues, the neat lettering, editing and occasional narration by Billings keep the readers interested till the end then eager for the next issue. The illustrations are artistic and detailed. There’s some violence, mild blood, horror but no nudity, no suggestive themes, no bad language.

In conclusion, John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction Hell #2 of 8 is an exciting comic featuring interesting characters, thrilling situations, analysis of human behavior towards the unknown, and an exciting mission to reach the center of Earth!  For any horror and sci-fi fan, this comic book is a must have in their collection!
