Spoiler-Free Review:

John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction Hell #3 is a comic issue that follows the story of Occult Specialist Stefanie Billings, a humanoid lizard man and a team hired by a corporation to venture into the center of the planet Earth to search for the cause of lizard monsters and to find a rare mineral that can be sold for a big fortune…

After the introduction in the first issue and getting accustomed to the submarine that is making its way to the Bermuda Triangle in the second issue, the third issue starts with the situation of the submarine facing an intruder situation which thankfully ends suddenly. Then our protagonist Stefanie and the team suit up to form a formal team ready for the mission. As they get a few hours to rest before they embark on a trip to the center of the planet Earth, we learn more about the submarine, the capsule that’s going to take the team 11,000 feet below the ocean surface, and more insights about Stefanie & Mr. Samples’ past…

The readers see some great interactions between the team members, lots of interesting information about the mission, reference to Mars Mission & Space, and a few nice narration moments by the protagonist – Stefanie, who is full of wisdom. The comic ends with the team strapped into their seats as the capsule is ready to launch to the ocean floor and beyond with the next issue most probably starting with the exciting journey to the center of the planet Earth!! There’s a free preview of issue 4 included that’s releasing in July 2021!

Art and illustrations are remarkable as always, and the writing keeps the reader invested in the story. The lettering & editing job is perfect and admirable as there’s a lot of information to fit into this comic without making everything feel burdensome. There’s humor, action, strong language but no violence in this issue, and no suggestive themes or nudity. An enjoyable quality comic for the mature readers!

In conclusion, John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction Hell Issue #3 delivers the excitement equal to a rocket launch but underwater & the destination is Hell instead of Moon or Mars! It’s enjoyable, thrilling, exciting, funny & full of amazing visuals! This is among the most well made science fiction thriller comics out there which will be loved by all comic fans.

Highly recommended to have in your comic collection!
