Free Short Film & Review: ACM Official’s ‘Camp Hell’ Co-Written by Jed Brian – Starring Jules Schreiber & Autumn Noel!

Summer Camps can be….HELL

There are very few filmmakers and writers that can explore a thought that scares everyone. Whether it be a thought of being stalked by a woman in yellow dress (Smiling Woman), a doubt of haunted apartment, or an invisible Man, and many more, ACM Official founder Alex Magaña has been successful in not only creating short films based on those scary thoughts but also successfully entertaining the audience for free on YouTube. Once again, teaming up with co-writer, Jed Brian (Unlisted Owner, Smiling Woman 4 & 5, Invisible Man 2), this short horror film called ‘Camp Hell’ which was premiered on YouTube recently, is yet another scary and entertaining short that explore a frightening Summer Camp & also the thought of being chased by someone as we try to enter our car…

Our protagonist (Carolyn, played by Autumn Noel ), is sensing the presence of someone and also receiving calls. She makes her way to the car, and when inside she sees a lady (Maria, played by Jules Schreiber), who is actually the main protagonist and is asking for help while looking through the window. Maria as we saw in the beginning was a Summer Camp participant (Evident from the video thumbnail image too), and someone seems to be chasing her.. Our other protagonist is not sure what is happening and who is a real threat- the unknown presence she felt or this lady who seems to be genuinely afraid and asking for help….Phone calls, request for help, a dark night, the urge to start her car to escape from all of this, etc. thoughts come into her mind. This all ends in a scary way which also hints that there’s a chance of sequels coming in future! Through the ending, we also get to know why the title is called Camp Hell. The writing is skillful and I see the pattern similar to Smiling Woman which started with the first Merlynda Sol starrer short and is still going strong with its 5th short released on YouTube recently.

In conclusion, ACM Official’s Camp Hell is a well made horror twist to the childhood fear about Summer Camps we all had! It’s an entertaining, scary and well made horror short that has awesome writing (by Alex Magaña & Jed Brian), memorable performances by both actresses, scary Hell Hands by Gary House, make-up by Hayley Glazier, terrific sound mixing by Oszkar Romé and beautiful cinematography! With the horror short available to watch for free, you should definitely give it a try to experience the thrill of being observed and chased by an unknown entity, besides to justify why you hated Summer Camps as a child!
