Spoiler-Free Review:
It was a normal cold dark night shift of arranging and processing for the staff of a delivery company till a giant wrapped behemoth was noticed by them. It had no address and only a paper with a number typed on it as if it was a code or a password. The staff being just three men with no supervisor, they decided to take a look at the package due to no address and the possibility of the package containing something dangerous like a bomb. Curiosity was a big factor and quite dangerous itself…
They broke the wrapping and found a lot of books. Taking a closer look made them realize that the books were the copies of The Holy Bible and the copies formed a wall around a giant locker box which had a digital padlock to input numbers. Having the number page with them and the motive of finding out if the package contains a bomb, they decide to enter the number to see what is inside. Strange things start happening after they enter the number…
Our protagonist recently had a loss in his family. His colleagues also had some of their own sad memories. This all results in a dark and emotionally moving portrayal of what happens after the number is entered. They start seeing visions, and past memories. It’s not just that but they slowly realize that there is a supernatural being behind all of this. They try to decipher the reason behind the inclusion of the copies of The Holy Bible. Is the box cursed or is this all a part of some biblical plan? All is revealed in an exciting and scary way. The comic ends on a high note and makes you curious about the next one!
The 40 paged color comic is well written by Ian Mondrick (with script editing by Danny Lore) and has illustrations by Benjamin Æ Filby are artistic as well as scary at the right time. The colors by Lesley Atlansky are vibrant and show the horror mood effectively. Lettering by Zakk Saam makes sure that the comic looks neat and clean. The cover by Kim Myatt is bound to attract new readers. The comic has no suggestive themes or strong language. The comic has some strong horror and gore to have a genuine impact on the readers. A great treat for mature readers.
In conclusion, Tomb of the White Horse is an entertaining, scary and eventful horror comic that is a perfect addition to any horror fan’s collection. It handles the theme of apocalypse well while also giving life to the interesting characters as well as scary supernatural beings.
