Horror Comic Review: Tomb of The Red Horse

Without spoilers we review an action packed and scary apocalyptic horror comic called ‘Tomb of the Red Horse’ which can be obtained through the Kickstarter that is live till March 23rd 2022 7:00 PM UTC +04:00!

Cosmic horror meets corporate malfeasance in this bloody thriller that’s perfect for fans of Ice Cream man and The Silver Coin

Benjamin and Ian continue their exploration of global threats through their unique take on the apocalypse. Whether it’s intolerance, misinformation, war, or inequality,  the TOMB series tries to be more than just a scary story; it pulls emotion from the real threats that keep us up at night.

For those of you who are new to the TOMB series, don’t worry! Most of the reward tiers feature all three stories as a digital pdf download, and there are physical copies of both WHITE and RED horse available on our add-on page!  (update 2/25: physical copies of RED & WHITE HORSE have been replenished in the add-on store! 20 copies remaining!)

Spoiler-Free Review:

The president of the US was in a plane and a giant arrow hit it causing it to crash in a city. As if this wasn’t enough, fights broke out on the streets for no reason. Castor, the son of the US President starts to hear his father’s voice..
This is how the second exciting issue of the Tomb series starts. The Tomb of the Red Horse relates to the apocalyptic horseman, War, thus, there is a lot of action in this issue. No trace of the US President or the dead body, thus, causing Castor and the media to assume that the President might still be alive somehow. The bodyguard – Agent Christie was given the responsibility to protect him from the start and is determined to not let him go alone anywhere. However, this situation turns out to be the Agent Christie’s biggest test of bravery, loyalty and purity of heart as there’s a sinister paranormal force that seeks to harm the kid. It’s thrilling and scary to see the events unfold as the entire city is engulfed in riot-like situation while we also witness the tricks being played on the son of the President. This comic ends on a high note like the first one (Tomb of the White Horse) and makes the reader eager for the next issue, Tomb of the Black Horse!

The Team has put their full efforts into this masterpiece. The story by Ian Mondrick (With script editing by Claire Napier) is engrossing and the art by Benjamin Æ Filby as well as the colors by Dearbhla Kelly bring it to life. The dialogues look clean thanks to the lettering by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. The cover art by Kim Myatt is scary and artistic!
There’s action, horror, adventure and scary visuals but no suggestive themes and since the comic contains a child in the story, it handles the violence responsibly. Perfect for a mature audience.
In conclusion, Tomb of the Red Horse is an enjoyable action packed apocalyptic horror comic that’s filled with scary visuals! A must own for any horror comic fan.
